Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled High Pressure Boiler Operator to join our facilities maintenance team. This essential role involves operating, monitoring, and maintaining high-pressure steam boilers and related industrial equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable energy production. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, expertise in boiler mechanics, and experience with complex mechanical systems. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the safe operation of critical infrastructure while supporting ongoing facility performance and safety standards.

Duties

• Operate high-pressure steam boilers and industrial boilers in accordance with safety protocols, operational procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor boiler performance using gauges, control panels, and building automation systems; adjust controls to optimize efficiency.
• Conduct routine inspections of boilers, valves, pumps, and auxiliary equipment; identify potential issues through visual checks and system diagnostics.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on boilers and associated systems utilizing schematics, technical drawings, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
• Maintain detailed logs of operational data, maintenance activities, and safety checks for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubrication, calibration, and component replacements to ensure continuous operation.
• Utilize welding skills for minor repairs on boiler components or piping as necessary.
• Interpret technical schematics and drawings to facilitate accurate repairs and system modifications.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues involving hydraulics, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration), and building automation systems.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations related to high-pressure steam systems; participate in safety audits and training sessions.

Experience

• Proven experience operating high-pressure steam boilers within an industrial or large commercial setting.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in boiler mechanics, industrial equipment repair, and mechanical systems troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and control system documentation.
• Demonstrated ability to perform equipment maintenance including welding, mechanical repairs, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, HVAC/R systems, building automation controls, and engineering troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience working with industrial mechanics in field service or maintenance roles on complex equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer service-oriented approach to support operational needs effectively.
• Relevant certifications or licenses related to boiler operation or industrial maintenance are preferred but not mandatory.
